Our aim – To create a fun learning environment where boys and girls can increase their technical ability, whilst making new friends and staying active.
The Tiny Tekkers sessions are perfect for the little boys and girls who want to have fun and play football. The programme has been designed as an introduction to football and includes fun games, lots of contact time with the football and fundamental movement techniques which develop coordination, flexibility, balance and speed. The session normally lasts for 45 minutes and will include social drink breaks.
We believe that with the correct learning environment connected by our coaching style, we can help players prosper both on and off the training pitch.
We strongly believe that our players must play with the freedom to express themselves, we encourage and applaud flair and creativity. Players are made to feel comfortable and welcome with our relaxed but focused approach.
We do not play games every week, we do not participate in any leagues, therefore our training is designed to work alongside the players existing junior football team matches and training.
Each training session will cover at least one of the fundamental aspects of the game, these include –
- Dribbling and running with the ball.
- Passing and receiving.
- Changes of direction/feints and skill moves.
We work on ball mastery in every session, this improves players balance, speed, agility, coordination and forces players to work both feet equally. Ball mastery is a series of small skilful movements to improve techniques such as first touch, passing and shooting.
We work on individual skills and play games that replicate ‘real match’ situations, this encourages good habits ready for match day.
We use a lot of repetition to ingrain the correct movements and techniques required for players to develop.
We finish all sessions with small sided games usually no more than 5v5 with different variations depending upon the topic, this is proven to increase contact time on the ball, more touches, more opportunities and more decision making = more learning.
We do not promise to make every child a professional footballer. However every child who attends our academy will –
- Have fun.
- Feel safe and welcome.
- Increase their confidence.
- Develop social skills which will help on and off the pitch.
- Improve as an individual player.
- Improve as a team player.
“Not every child has an equal talent or an equal ability or equal motivation, but they should have the equal right to develop their talent and their ability and their motivation, to make something of themselves”. John F Kennedy.
